In the early 1990s, hypnotherapist Jack True was trying to show me how perception operated in hypnotized subjects.
As a joke, well it was a half-joke, he said: “If you’re doing a scientific experiment on gravity, and you start dropping various objects from the top of a building, you’re going to find out some interesting things about the way gravity operates in the universe.
“But if you don’t care about gravity and science, when you drop the objects from the roof, some will fall and others will float.”
What he meant was this: if you want to find out how to build things and run things and propel things and blow up things, you can look into the universe and eventually obtain that information.
The information will seem to be definitive about how the universe is built. It will seem to be the only model. It will seem to be the truth.
But that’s an illusion. Actually, competing models about the universe are available, and depending on your intent, you can discover and put together as many as you need.
They all work. They all look like mutually exclusive systems. But they aren’t.
The picture of tiny particles whirling through space and time is fine. It works. It enables the kind of technology we have now. It can be proved with mathematics. It can be verified until the cows come home. But it’s not the only choice.
Jack once had a patient who, three years earlier, had suddenly developed nearsightedness.
So Jack put him in a light trance and worked on it. Nothing.
Finally, after a number of sessions, Jack told him that perhaps his view or picture of the universe was standing in his way. Perhaps he needed to come up with another picture. Jack liked to try these radical approaches.
In ensuing sessions, Jack had his patient invent dozens of different models of how the universe was constructed. None of them were based on physics.
The patient was getting interested. He suddenly recalled that, as a very young boy, he’d thought the world was a kind of vacuum surrounded by extremely dense space, which was actually solid. He’d had dreams about this “reverse configuration.”
For no apparent reason, the patient now felt better. His eyesight improved.
Jack told me his experience with this patient was part of the reason he stopped doing hypnosis. He said that having one and only one model of the way things are is, in fact, the result of being in a core trance. Everyone is, to one degree or another, already in that hypnotic state. Therefore, Jack’s job should be to wake people up.
Whether the universe is made of particles or waves, was produced by the Big Bang or the translation of lines of code from a two-dimensional surface, or as a result of vibrating Strings, it can be said to be a projection, a demonstration.
It can be viewed as an absolute unity, just as a stage play strives for absolute credibility. But of course, the stage play is wise enough to end. And then the audience walks out. But the universe is a projection that wants to impart the illusion of permanence.
This illusion is brought about by a scheme of interconnectedness, in which each particle or thing appears to be related to every other thing, or, from a different point of view, reflects every other thing, in a series of mirrors.
This is the overarching meaning of the ancient symbol of the maze. You move through the paths and arrive back at the beginning. The journey is always self-contained.
From the perspective I’m presenting here, the horse that finishes last in the race is named Truth, when truth is sought as one and only one model forever.
It’s not merely, as some physicists venture, that there are universes parallel to this one. There are universes everywhere. They are infinite in number. And then there is a “greater” infinity—those universes that have not yet been created.
Taking this as a starting point, and inventing multiple scenarios, multiple worlds, universes, and futures, one gains back power. Power beyond what one thinks, at any given moment, is possible.

The only thing that people should ever agree about in terms of assessing ‘Reality’ is that none of us ever really agrees on ANYTHING. It might look at times like we do, but that is an illusion. We don’t perceive things the same way and we don’t assess and judge what we perceive the same way so how could we ever ‘agree’ on anything in any real sense. We have differing values… experiences… definitions… feelings… like always speaking separate and differing languages to each other at all times.

All of what we take as Reality is a projection. Our own unique and singular projection of ‘a’ reality within a matrix of a larger Reality that we might only briefly ever experience and only if we get out of our own way and quiet down our own thoughts and judgments and we get to have one of those transcendent experiences that mystics talk about.

First of all, there are multiple billions of people on the Earth right now. And guess what? Each and every one of us has OUR OWN UNIVERSE. And only We live in it.
We DO NOT live in each other’s universe. And no one lives in ours. Why? Everything we experience is going on in our own heads. It’s a mind trick to make us believe there is some objective outside universe. And quantum physics has already proven this as a fact.
So – given the number of people alive today — there are already billions of universes. And that is before the notion of ‘other’ universes and States of Reality comes into play.
We share just the thinnest of a so-called ‘consensus’ reality. And that ONLY occurs inside Our Mind and the Mind of Someone Else — both separately. And even then it’s debatable about how much of a consensus it really is and how much these mental projections might actually differ. You and Someone Else would both simultaneously ‘agree’ on ‘something’ as a ‘consensus’ in that instant — but that all occurs in TWO separate minds and realities (universes) at any given moment.
We live in separate universes within a larger matrix of Universe. That’s one model that just might hold up no matter what else we learn about our true existence.
I love this […] My older son and I have spent hours and days of hours expanding on the concept of a literal God, an HIS EXISTENCE… You know, take away the limitations and fears of man and go for broke. Stop confining God and creation in a small box… Stop attempting to make God a man… and then, and only then, will you have something worth pursuing and believing in… EXCEPT… never forget… God’s Existence, (should we choose to give creation a name) NEVER STOPS EXPANDING, AND THE POSSIBILITIES WITHIN THAT EXPANSION ARE LIMITLESS, AND ALL HAPPENING AT THE SAME TIME, (even though time is certainly not a confining factor.) Someone once said to me, (in relationship to the horrors of man.) If you can think of it, it’s already been done… And so, carry that concept out into creation or existence itself, and one would hope we would begin to see we have been fools on the grandest scale in NOT pursuing the possibilities… I love this […]

This is the source of many of humankind’s problems – seeing everything in the Universe solely through the very tiny window of a limited form of human mentality and turning everything into something resembling or as an extension of a (limited) human being. The entire notion of true Source Deity is that such a Power is beyond (full) human understanding. This Power is better thought of not so much in human terms as a ‘being’ at all but in terms of what quantum physics teaches EVERYTHING is at its most fundamental level: ENERGY and INFORMATION. So Our Source Power… and all that results from that Power… is at its heart Energy and Information. That may be the closest understanding we ever come to in accurately describing what we call God.

Organized religion concerns itself with what we as humans ‘believe’. Again, this is putting the emphasis on the (limited) human and the very tiny window of human understanding and the pursuit of acceptance of a certain narrative which they count as some kind of victory of importance in the grand scheme of things. ‘Snaring souls for God’. As if this were some kind of big Universal hunting trip in the pursuit of big game. And as if God — who possesses Knowledge without limit – doesn’t already know how all the potential timelines turn out for every human being.
God as Energy and Information simply exists. Just like gravity does. Gravity does not care if you ‘believe’ in it or not. Gravity is what it is and exists independently from what anyone else thinks about it. Gravity does not care to bag souls for itself and have religions erected around it.

Many mystics have come to realize that all that exists is simply within the Divine Mind. There is no objective world out there. There is no real separation between God and humans… or God and rivers… or God and rocks… on and on. What one might call a difference of separation is in the DEGREE and AMOUNT of energy and information Our Source and any one of God’s ‘fractals’ (all else that exists) possesses.
We are all living within and as a part of the Divine Mind, or Divine Dream. The only limits are the ones we put upon ourselves when we forget who and what we really are in an act of existential amnesia. And even that amnesia serves some Divine Purpose within the Divine Dream we all exist in.
When we ‘pursue’ God… we are also pursuing ourselves. When we come to some kind of breakthrough understanding or feeling about God… we do likewise about ourselves. We as humans are one of the fractals of God.
